What’s the difference between an OBM (Online Business Manager) and a VA (Virtual Assistant)?

While most Virtual Assistants provide their clients with administrative services such as managing correspondence and projects, an Online Business Manager acts more as a partner and consultant, keeping up with the latest technologies and services and utilizing them to help clients establish and build an online presence for their business. An Online Business Manager is interested in your vision for your business and works to help you not only achieve but surpass those goals. Where VAs are more task-oriented, OBMs are more goal-oriented.

Advantage Online Solutions provides services ranging from blog design to press release writing as well as creating and managing newsletter subscriptions and information products. As your Online Business Manager, we will set up and maintain your profiles on social media services, make contacts with the media for public relations opportunities, write and submit articles and blog posts related to your industry, and act as a sounding board for your new ideas.

April is dedicated to providing her clients with quality service with a fast turnaround time. She strives to meet their needs and help them achieve their business goals. April welcomes feedback from her clients and sees her projects as a partnership, putting as much effort into them as she would her own.

Prior to launching Advantage Online Solutions, April was a Paralegal working under the direct supervision of attorneys specializing in fields including litigation, estate planning, family law, personal injury, worker’s compensation and business. In her spare time, she began blogging and designing blog templates for herself and her friends. In her career as a Paralegal, April learned the importance of deadlines and attention to detail. She applies those same skills to her Online Business Management services.

April is involved in many groups and associations related to virtual assistance, online business development, and social media. She is a contributor to Profitable Mommy Blogging, a member of Mom Masterminds, Shelancers, and the VAnetworking Blog Commentators Team and a Team Leader at Moms United in Business.

April is also the proud mother of three children and will be a first-time grandmother in January 2009. When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and skating. She lives with her children in the Omaha NE area.
